Daily Devotion: His Valuable Creation

Scripture:
Matthew 6: 25-34

Main Verse:
Matthew 6: 26
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Observation:
Our Father in Heaven does not like it when we worry. When we are anxious, we do not believe that the Lord will sufficiently provide all our needs. If our fathers here on earth provide for us, how much more the Lord our Father?  In fact, before we even ask the Lord, He already knows what we need. If the Lord can take care of all the wild animals and plants here on earth, He will take care of us more because we are more valuable than any of His creations.

Application:
If the Lord already knows what we need before we even ask Him, then why does the Lord want us to pray to Him "Give us this day our daily bread"? The Lord is all knowing. He knows the deepest recesses of our heart. There is nothing that we can hide from Him. But He wants us to ask Him. He wants us to pray to Him. He wants to build a strong, loving relationship with Him and we can only establish a deep connection with Him through prayer and communication.  We need to stop worrying and entrust everything to Him because the Lord himself has said that we are His most valuable creation.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for your provisions and protection. Forgive me when I forget to see and understand how powerful you are. I pray that I may have the kind of relationship that you have had with your chosen men and women. I pray that you will always let me see your glory, so that i can be reminded not to worry about my needs. This I pray in Jesus's name. AMEN.
