Scripture:
Romans 12: 9-21
Main Verse:
Romans 12: 10
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Observation:
There are a few people who are dear to me because of the impact they have had in my life. Some have inspired a part of my life, some have molded me into who I am today, and some have encouraged and mentored me with God's Word. But I consider family, friends, church workers and others who have shown great love and devotion to the Lord the most influential to me. They are the ones who have shown to me what it means to love one another, to be devoted to one another. They are the sister who was willing to listen to my problems and pray for me, the brother who was willing to help in every possible way he can, the church member who was willing to sacrifice his time and money to help advance the Kingdom of God. They have such a great impact in my life because we have a mutual connection through Jesus Christ.
Application:
As Christians, we are members of one family: the family of God. Therefore, we should honor one another. We should treat others with love and respect. Encourage a brother or sister who is going through difficult times. Cheer up a friend in Christ when he or she is downcast. Call or visit a church member who has been absent for a long time in church, and check out how things are going with him or her. There are many ways we can show love in action to others, especially to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We'll never know whether a brother or sister is in a tight situation if we do not ask them or call them.
Prayer:
Father, You have shown me that the way to show that I love you is by loving others, too, especially a brother or sister in Christ. May I never have a conceited mind and may others be able to approach me, especially a brother or sister in need. May I establish and develop a healthy relationship with them. In Jesus's name I pray. AMEN.
