Daily Devotion: Spiritual Immorality
Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 6:18-20
18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
*****
Observation:
The Bible clearly and explicitly tells us that as a disciple of Christ, we should run away from sexual immorality. We are bought at an expensive price: the blood of Jesus. God says we must honor him by keeping our bodies pure and blemish-free.
*****
Application:
I like the verse that says "And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear." God knows that there is temptation everywhere. It is not easy to avoid temptation because we are still here on earth. But, I have been witness to God's faithfulness in my life, so I truly believe that God will work in wonderful ways to keep us away from sin.
