My Daily Devotion: John 9:1-7

Scripture:
John 9:1-7

1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

Reflection:
- Jesus is the light of the world. Whoever follows him will not stumble into darkness.
- Whenever we pass through a tunnel, there are lights on each side of the tunnel to guide drivers. Without these lights, it would be hard, or even impossible, to see where the end of the tunnel is. We could bump into other cars, thereby causing major accidents that could hurt or even kill us.
- Just like these drivers, we also need a source of light to guide our path. Those who do not follow the light will not see the end of the tunnel.

Application:
- Follow Jesus's commands at all times. Do not deviate from the Light of this world, for he is the only one who can direct or lead our path. As He said in John 8:12, whoever follows him shall not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
