Daily Devotion: Doing Good

Scripture:
Hebrews 6: 1-12

Main Verse:
Hebrews 6: 10
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Observation:
The Lord our God is a gracious God. When we do acts of kindness especially to our brothers and sisters in Christ, he will never forget what we did. He will always remember our love and how we show that we love the Lord by being good to others. What an assurance we have! The Lord is fair and just. He sees, knows, and hears what we have done unto others.

Application:
When we do good deeds, let us remember that our reward is not here on earth but in heaven. The Lord has something in store for us. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). If the Lord is able to forgive our sins and be gracious to save our souls from condemnation, he will not deny us his rewards for doing good. We can never imagine God's goodness. God is good all the time!

Prayer:
Thank you, Father, for showing me how to be good. May I also show unto others the same goodness so that my brothers and sisters in Christ may feel how good and great and wonderful and faithful you are. AMEN.
