Scripture:
Revelation 21: 1-8
Main Verse:
Revelation 21: 3
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God."
Observation:
In Revelation 21, the Lord told John that at His appointed time, the new Jerusalem will come out of heaven, and God himself will dwell here along with all the saints. It must be a sight to behold, as John compared this to a bride beautifully dressed for her husband! In this new Jerusalem, there will be neither pain, nor suffering, nor death for the Lord will make everything new. I could not even stop imagining how glorious this day will be for all the saints, for all who believed, and for all who led a victorious life for the Lord.
Application:
Are you feeling weary lately? Have you ever felt tired or burned out especially when you go through tough times in your ministry for the Lord? It is a natural feeling, and I believe that we all experience this more than once in our Christian lives. I would be a hypocrite if I say that I am not affected by the evilness that is happening around me everyday. However, when we find ourselves exhausted, we must resist the negative thoughts and feelings, get down on our knees and pray, and meditate on the Word of God so we can draw inspiration once again from God's promises. The Lord himself has said that He is preparing for us a room in the House of His Father, and when everything is ready, he will come and get us, so that we will always be with Him (John 14: 3).
Prayer:
Lord, it is hard to be good in a world where there is so much evilness. It is hard to walk the path toward righteousness, and even harder to continue your work here on earth. I pray, oh Lord, that your Spirit may continue to help me endure all difficulties and struggles, and that He will give me the inspiration so I can persevere. Take away all negative thoughts, anger, careless behavior from my spirit. May I always be filled with love and compassion. In Jesus's name I pray. AMEN.
