Scripture:
Psalm 145
Main Verse:
Psalm 145: 4
One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.
Observation:
David's attitude toward worshipping God is truly remarkable. He was always praising and thanking God for all the mighty deeds He has done for him. He glorified the Lord not only in words but also in action. When I read the book of Psalm, I can't help but admire King David's dedication to worshipping the One and Only God. He has shown us a great example of who the Lord is and the marvelous things He has done. If he had not written any of the psalms, we probably would not have known how majestic our God is.
Application:
David was unashamed of proclaiming the Lord's greatness to others through worship, and we can do the same to others, especially to the younger generations. Who else will tell about the great and wonderful things the Lord has done if we do not teach the next generation about him? We need to desire to tell our grandchildren, our children, our nieces and nephews about the Lord. They need to understand the Lord's power and develop a fear of the Lord. They need to have a deep, personal relationship with the Lord. As the older generation, we are responsible in establishing the youth's relationship with the Lord, and ensure that they know about the God that we serve and worship.
Prayer:
Lord, your mighty deeds are worth proclaiming. There is nothing to be ashamed about the great and wonderful things you have done in my life! Your love is boundless, and your faithfulness is eternal. I have experienced your loving graciousness. Lord, may there always be opportunities for me to share your love, your grace and mercy, and your wonderful works to others, especially to the young ones who are close to me. I pray, oh Lord, that the younger ones in my household would get to witness and understand your greatness and see your glory in my life. In Jesus's name I pray. AMEN.
