Scripture:
Ezekiel 37: 1-10
Main Verses:
Ezekiel 37: 3, 5-6
He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" I said, "Sovereign Lord, you alone know." This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.'"
Observation:
God is omniscient, meaning He knows everything about us, our past, our present, and our future. There is nothing that we can hide from Him. He knows what's in our hearts. He knows what we think. When God asked Ezekiel if the bones on the floor of the valley can live, he acknowledged that only God knows. But God wanted Ezekiel to witness more than His all-knowing and all-seeing attribute. God wanted Ezekiel to witness also His omnipotence--His power and dominion over all his creations, including those who are dead--and that only He alone can raise the dead back into life!
Application:
When we pray, do we acknowledge God's powerful presence in our lives? Do we truly recognize His omniscience and omnipotence? Do we freely ask Him to search our heart? But even when we don't ask God to search our hearts, He knows what we think. That's why we need to be always careful with our thoughts and actions. The Lord is always ready to forgive us when we sin, but that does not give us the liberty to continue doing something that we already know is wrong. In the same way, remember that God is Almighty. If there are sins that continue to enslave you, surrender them all to Him. He can set you free from the bonds of sin because He is all powerful. His power has no limits and restrictions.
Prayer:
Father, indeed, you are Almighty, all-powerful, and all-knowing God. My flesh is weak, but my heart yearns to be with you always. Please hold me close to you, and may I always listen to the Holy Spirit when He tries to guide me to the right path. Thank you for your protection, Lord, and forgive me for giving in to my weaknesses. I come to you as a child longing to be always in your presence. This I pray in the Mighty Name of Your Son Jesus. AMEN.
